An induction cooktop does not use more electricity and is far more energy-efficient than gas or electric cooktops. In comparison, with a gas stove or electric cooktops, only 65-70% of the heat is used for actual cooking. This makes induction cooking a lot more energy-efficient.
How much electricity does an induction stove consume?
According to the cooktop technical sheet, it consumes 1900 watts per hour. Hence for calculating per day consumption, Per day = 1900 x 3 / 1000 = 5.7 kWh.
Does induction stove save electricity?
Energy efficiency: Induction cooking uses less energy than cooking with electricity or gas as energy is not wasted heating up the stove/burner and then the pot. Instead, energy goes straight into the pot. This means that there is no wasting energy by leaving the stove on or the gas burning.
