Question: Does night mode remove blue light?

Apples latest feature, Night Shift, uses geolocation and sunset time data to reduce the amount of blue light your device emits. However, the result isnt a technical reduction in blue light, but rather a filtered amber version.

Is true tone good for sleep?

It uses the iPad or iPhones clock and geolocation to automatically adjust the colours in the display to the warmer end of the spectrum after dark. The idea is to reduce exposure to blue light, which stimulates the brain and can keep you awake, leading to a bad nights sleep.

Should I have true tone on?

For those using the iPad for photo editing or video editing that want to fine-tune the color of the images, True Tone may have a beneficial effect. This feature can be especially useful if comparing the colors to an actual photograph.
